Increase in subsidy ceiling and great enthusiasm for submitting project proposals
This year we set up the KIEM HighTech scheme for the first time together with Regieorgaan SIA for Holland High Tech and the key technologies of the KIA ST. After the first successful round, with no fewer than 34 research projects awarded funding, we jointly decided to increase the subsidy ceiling from € 1,800,000 to € 2,760,000. The maximum financing per application is €40,000. 32 project applications were submitted in round two.
Leo Warmerdam, director of Holland High Tech: “With the increase we are responding to the great interest from the field for short-term research on technological issues of small and medium-sized businesses. In this way we support innovations from companies and strengthen cooperation between SMEs and research from universities of applied sciences. I am pleased that the KIEM HighTech subsidy scheme fits well with the innovation ambitions of companies.”
Lots of enthusiasm
32 project proposals were submitted in the second round of the KIEM HighTech 2024 scheme. It will be announced in July which applications will be accepted. The first round resulted in no fewer than 34 awarded research projects: technologically-oriented innovation issues from practice that relate to, for example, robotics solutions, 3D printing of silicone, fiber optic alignment, AI in Alzheimer's diagnostics, passive cooling of electronics and composite metal connections with Cold spray technique.
Third and final round
The deadline for project proposals for the 3rd and final round is Tuesday, October 8, 2024, 2:00 PM.
It is expected that a maximum of 69 applications will be awarded within this call for proposals.
