Progressive digitalization leads to a growing importance of cybersecurity for the Netherlands; this is further reinforced by geopolitical factors. The National Technology Strategy (NTS) therefore mentions Cybersecurity Technologies as one of the ten important topics. But an agenda, as published for the other nine topics as part of the NTS, was still missing. With the publication of the Cybersecurity Technologies Agenda, this gap is now being closed. The agenda contains a description of the topic, an analysis of our current position and the Netherlands' ambitions for this technology. The NTS agendas provide a basis for strategic choices for the (further) development of these technologies.
Cybersecurity is an important topic for the high-tech manufacturing industry: after all, high-tech companies are highly digitized and therefore depend on security in both the physical and digital domains. In addition, their products often have both physical and digital components, making digital product safety essential. Legislation and regulations are increasingly pushing towards this. Holland High Tech is also the coordinator of two Knowledge and Innovation Agendas (KIAs). Both KIA Key Technologies and KIA Safety focus on the (further) development of Cybersecurity Technologies.
