QDNL Participations- fund

The fund is designed to provide researchers with the financial support they need to prepare their research for commercialization. The fund will also invest in companies across the entire quantum technology industry, including hardware, communications and sensing technologies, as well as companies that provide components critical to the growth of the sector.

Het QDNL Participations- fund is supported by Quantum Delta NL, a foundation that exists to nurture and develop the Dutch quantum technology ecosystem.

Ton van 't Noordende, QDNL Participations managing director:

We want to get in really early and make sure we protect and support founders by making sure that the initial check into the company is one of patience and support, because that's actually where the issues usually come from already.''

Help with launching start-ups

Fund representatives also noted that the vehicle will also help research teams launch start-ups based on their technology, offering up to €50,000 to teams developing promising quantum technologies before they are even listed as a start-up. This funding will then be converted into an equity investment if and when the team is ready to move forward with a viable business model through a SAFE- note agreement.

Infinity

In addition to the fund, Quantum Delta NL has also launched a new support program called Infinity.
This program is designed to help Dutch university researchers navigate the university spin-out process and secure their first round of funding. Infinity aims to build the best, most connected, sustainable quantum startup sector in the world by 2028.

Because the program is not tied to a specific university, it is able to provide independent, expert advice on how founders can properly commercialize their research, with the right partners. And when it comes to fundraising, founders can leverage Infinity's network of more than 800 deep tech investors worldwide, including QDNL Participations.
