Are you internationally active in high-tech or digitalization? And are you curious about Japanese techniques and innovations of the future? Then take part in this mission with Dirk Beljaarts, Minister of Economic Affairs. This mission is during the world exhibition in Osaka from 18 to 28 May 2025.
For whom?
Participation in this mission is open to Dutch companies and knowledge institutions that are active in high-tech or digitalisation.
RVO organises this mission for 4 sectors within high-tech and digitalisation. They offer their own 'track' for each sector.
Please note: RVO advises you to first determine which track you want to participate in. The mission dates and the order of the places you visit differ per track.
Participation and costs
Participation in this mission costs €950 per organization (preferably 1 person). These costs include:
- participation in collective program components;
- collective matchmaking;
- local support by the organization;
- local bus transportation (linked to the mission program).
At your own expense and risk are:
- travel and accommodation costs;
- costs for personal transfers, such as traveling to individual appointments or traveling by train;
- costs for interpreters.
After the end of the registration period, RVO will send suggestions for your travel, transportation and accommodation.
Opportunities for Dutch companies
Japan is investing heavily in high-tech and digitalisation. For geopolitical reasons, but also to solve social challenges. With these investments, the Asian country also wants to increase its earning power and protect the environment.
The country is spending hundreds of billions of euros on improving:
- the semiconductor industry
- quantum technology
- photonics
- artificial intelligence (AI)
- applications for 'beyond 5G/ 6G'
There are many opportunities for Dutch companies and knowledge institutes to collaborate in Japan. Companies such as ASMI, NXP, Philips and ASML are therefore already doing business in Japan. Research institutes such as TNO and a few Dutch universities are also already working with Japan.
Japan also offers opportunities for collaboration in innovation, research and trade. Especially in the sectors below.
