Fontys Engineering has launched the first episode of their new podcast series 'Systems Engineering Conversations'. In this series, professionals share their expertise and experience in the field of Systems Engineering. The podcast is aimed at both students and professionals, with the aim of providing insight into the Dutch practice of engineering.
In the first episode, Erik Puik, lecturer in Smart Manufacturing at Fontys Engineering, talks about the important role of his field as a bridge builder between product development and manufacturability. Topics discussed include the need for technical research directions for industry, the universal language of Systems Engineering, the development of the DASE method (Dutch Approach to Systems Engineering), and the involvement of Fontys University of Applied Sciences in the NXTGEN Hightech project.
