The Worldexpo 2025 in Osaka, Japan, offers an excellent opportunity to strengthen economic, political and cultural ties with Japan and the East Asian region. During the worldexpo, Dutch businesses, knowledge institutes, governments and (cultural) organisations that are (or want to be) active in the Japanese market will join 5 economic missions. The aim is to boost international cooperation. Our chairman Peter Stolk, and Naomie Verstraeten of Brainport Development, are mission leaders of the Hightech & Digitisation (HTDX) mission at track HT1 Deeptech & Equipment from 18 to 24 May 2025.

Rapid digitalisation and technological developments call for innovative solutions. The Netherlands and Japan share many common challenges. Think ageing, labour shortages and carbon emissions. The HT1 Deeptech & Equipment focuses on semiconductors, photonics, quantum devices in production processes, solutions for packaging, semiconductor metrology and test equipment. On 22 May, all participants will visit the ‘High-level HTDX’ conference. Dirk Beljaarts, Minister of Economic Affairs is leading the entire mission, and the king will also meet it during his visit to the Dutch Pavilion at the Worldexpo.

The Dutch pavilion was opened 22 April by Prime Minister Schoof.
