Early next year, NWO will open five new calls for proposals within the main Mission line of the NWO-KIC program. What is characteristic of these calls is that they concern funding for impact-driven research by consortia of knowledge institutions, companies and social organizations. The themes are chosen based on the mission-driven policy of the Dutch government, in particular the Knowledge and Innovation Agendas (KIAs) that are part of this.
In order to inform potential registrants and other interested parties in time about these calls, NWO is publishing the themes that will form the basis of these calls. It is expected that these calls will open in the first quarter of 2025. 6 to 7 million euros in financing will be available per call. Co-financing is requested; this co-financing may be provided in cash or in kind. Further information for each call will be available in the call for proposals.
The five thematic calls
- Biochemical diversity
- Consumer behavior as key to the transition to a circular economy
- Medicines from medicines
- Smart Tech for Everyone, Everywhere
- Data spaces for the energy transition
