With the KIEM HighTech 2024 subsidy scheme, Holland High Tech and Regieorgaan SIA stimulate technical innovation through collaboration between researchers, SMEs and other practical partners.
Background
The Netherlands faces major social and economic challenges. Our high-tech sector plays a crucial role in the urgent transitions required for this: the energy transition, the circular transition and the development of digitalization and key technologies (also read our VISION 2030 for more information).
Purpose KIEM HighTech
The aim of KIEM HighTech is to (exploratively) investigate new practical questions through practice-oriented research activities. These research activities are carried out by a network of knowledge institutions and practice partners (companies). With this scheme, the SIA organization encourages both network formation and the exploration of practical questions that could be a seed for a follow-up project or a technological innovation.
Thematic framework
An application is suitable for KIEM HighTech if it falls under one of our 15 roadmaps or fits in with at least one of the key technologies that are central to this KIEM scheme.
Budget
SIA and Holland High Tech (TKI HTSM Foundation on behalf of the top sector High Tech Systems and Materials) are jointly financing the scheme. The subsidy ceiling for this call for proposals has been increased from €1,800,000 to €2,760,000. The maximum funding per application is €40,000. In round two, 32 project applications were submitted and 23 were awarded. In the third round, a maximum of 12 projects can be awarded.
