Are you an SME looking for advice or guidance on the innovation of products, processes, or services? Or support in transferring or applying technology? Then you can take advantage of the Innovation Broker scheme through Holland High Tech.

Innovation Services

Our own Innovation Brokers are happy to share their knowledge and experience for the development of your company. An innovation service provides support in developing and implementing new technologies, products, or processes to drive innovation and growth. The Innovation Brokers scheme is funded through the MIT scheme of RVO. 

Our Innovation Brokers each have their own expertise in very different markets. Would you like to take advantage of the Innovation Brokers scheme and receive up to € 10,000 in reimbursement for advice? You can submit your request via our application form or contact one of our Innovation Brokers directly.

Types of Innovation Services

What kind of innovation services can an Innovation Broker offer?

  • Innovation of Products, Processes, or Services

  • Providing technological support
    - Application of standards (e.g., material, process, and component requirements for specific applications)
    - Advancing technology and related processes to the appropriate Technology Readiness Level (TRL)
    - Applying technology in products and/or equipment

  • Technology Transfer Services & Application of New Technologies
    - Networking: Connecting with technology partners and/or knowledge institutions within the ecosystem
    - Licensing, spin-offs, and other forms of knowledge management
    - Applying technology in products and/or equipment
    - Advisory support to prepare your technology or innovation for the next Service Readiness Level (SRL) 
  • Innovative start-up, scale-up, micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises focused on the development and application of key enabling technologies
  • A high-tech SME has a focus on developing and refining its own innovation strategies and conducting relevant research activities
  • Is a company registered in the Netherlands with a Chamber of Commerce number 

Examples of high-tech SMEs: 

  • Companies that operate as suppliers or system integrators in the (Dutch) manufacturing industry
  • Businesses providing essential components, advanced materials, or complex systems to larger players across various sectors
  • Manufacturing companies and materials experts involved in the design, development, and production of high-tech products and materials 

Furthermore, the subsidy contribution is only available to an SME according to the EU definition: 

  • A maximum of 250 employees
  • An annual turnover with a maximum of €50 million
  • An annual balance sheet total of €43 million or less
  • The duration of a project is a maximum of 1 year
  • A maximum of €10,000 (including VAT) is available per supported SME per year
  • Holland High Tech reimburses up to 80% of the costs, with a maximum of €10,000 for Innovation Broker support. The remaining 20% is covered by the SME
  • SMEs can receive innovation advisory services for a maximum of 3 years
  • Innovation advisory services may only include (man)hours/days and travel expenses.
  • The maximum hourly rate is €120 (including VAT)
  • An innovation service must align with one or more roadmaps, and/or urgent transitions of Holland High Tech
