On 2 February and 2 March 2026, collaborative workshops will be held for the KIC call 'Adaptivity in Transitions'. During these workshops, ideas can be exchanged and consortia formed. Please note: Lead applicants must attend both workshops to submit an application.

About collaborative workshops

NWO collaborative workshops bring researchers and societal stakeholders together to exchange ideas and form consortia around a societal theme. The meetings consist of two sessions in which participants collaborate, share their expertise and determine next steps. The aim is not to write a grant application immediately, but to initiate collaboration and build networks.

About the call

Mission-driven innovation for transitions takes place in a dynamic, complex context. In order not to delay transitions and preferably to accelerate them, the ability to adapt is required of systems and organisations as well as of the people involved. Adaptivity contributes to the necessary resilience against disruptions, responding to opportunities, stimulating innovation and achieving long-term goals. There is insufficient knowledge about how to increase adaptivity and utilise it for sustainable transitions. This call therefore aims to finance research that looks at adaptivity in three concrete transition contexts: transition of the food system, transition to sustainable mobility and transition of the energy system in the built environment.
