Economic mission to France
From September 30 to October 2, 2025, the Netherlands Enterprise Agency (RVO), the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Dutch embassy in Paris, the Netherlands Business Support Office (NBSO) in Nantes, and other partners will organize an economic mission to France. Focco Vijselaar, director of the Confederation of Netherlands Industry and Employers (VNO-NCW), will lead the business mission. Minister of Infrastructure and Water Management Robert Tieman will participate in parts of the aviation mission.
Economic mission
France is an important trade and cooperation partner for the Netherlands. France is one of the largest economies in Europe. The country has a strong industrial base and stimulates innovation.
This mission is central to the Dutch-French Economic Year (2025). The theme year aims to:
- Encourage mutual trade between the two countries.
- Attract additional investment.
- Forge new innovative partnerships and strengthen existing collaborations.

This mission is for Dutch companies and knowledge institutions active in civil and military aviation, agrotech or floating offshore wind.
Opportunities for civil and military aviation
The Netherlands is important in international aviation due to its combination of strategic collaboration, strong trade relations, and contribution to technological innovation.
Opportunities for agrotech
France has the largest market for agritech in Europe, with a value of €9.5 billion. Through the "France 2030" program, the country is investing heavily in sustainable agricultural innovation.
The Occitanie region (around Toulouse) is the agricultural heart of France. The region has more than 60,000 farms spread across 3 million hectares of land.
Opportunities for floating offshore wind
France aims to achieve 45 GW of offshore wind capacity by 2050. The interim target is 20 GW from floating and fixed offshore wind farms by 2035.
Occitanie is taking a leading role in this. The region aims to build six commercial floating wind farms in the Mediterranean Sea, with a total capacity of 6 GW.
