On 7 October, TNO-ESI will host the annual ESI Symposium at the Parktheater in Eindhoven. The symposium brings together engineers, researchers, and industry decision-makers around the theme Accelerate the Innovation of Engineering. This year, the symposium will be chaired by Masoud Dorosti (TNO-ESI) and Jacco Wesselius (TNO and Member of the Programme Council Systems Engineering, Holland High Tech).

The programme will focus on current technological challenges and opportunities, including:

• Keynotes by Gerrit Muller (TNO-ESI) on the future of Systems Engineering and the capabilities required, and Wei Li (ASML) on how AI will unlock the next wave of accelerated innovation
• Four parallel sessions on Future-fit organisations, The quest for engineering productivity, Intelligent diagnostics, and Understanding and evolving systems with Generative AI
• Mentoring session Finding your path in applied research, especially for early-career professionals
• An Innovation market with demonstrations by industrial partners and TNO-ESI
• A Poster market presenting new challenges from our academic partners
• In addition, there will be ample opportunity for networking.

Based on the Draghi report The Future of European Competitiveness, this symposium highlights the importance of higher productivity to strengthen Europe’s competitive position. The European engineering sector plays a central role in this effort, addressing the global need for sustainable, efficient, and transformative technology.
