Re-Arm Europe: Matchmaking Mechatronica Cluster Piemonte
On 2 October 2025, the High Tech Campus Eindhoven will host a Dutch-Italian collaboration event within Re-Arm Europe. Over the next five years, this European programme will see more than €800 billion invested in strengthening the defence industry and its supply chains. For Dutch companies, this represents major opportunities, especially for those developing technologies that can be applied in both civilian and military contexts: so-called dual use applications. On 2 October, an Italian delegation from the Mechatronics Cluster Piemonte will also visit the campus for matchmaking with Dutch counterparts.
Meeting with the Mechatronics Cluster Piemonte
From 30 September to 2 October 2025, a delegation from the Mechatronics Cluster Piemonte will be in the Netherlands. This group of companies – suppliers to Stellantis, CNH Industrial, Leonardo and Comau, among others – represents the core of Italy’s strong, mechanically oriented ecosystem. Companies from Piemonte already supply players such as Leonardo and Stellantis, and develop components and systems relevant to aerospace and defence. For Dutch companies in high-tech and precision technology, this creates concrete opportunities. Collaborating with these Italian partners can accelerate access to European defence supply chains, where major players are actively seeking new suppliers and development partners.
Programme
The programme on 2 October starts at 11:45 with a lunch, followed by two keynotes. Prof. Dr. Maarten Steinbuch (TU/e), an internationally recognised high-tech systems scientist and entrepreneur, will address the urgency of pan-European cooperation and the opportunities arising from dual use technologies. Next, the Mechatronics Cluster Piemonte will take the stage, presenting how their ecosystem connects with Dutch expertise in software, sensors, vision and AI.
After the plenary sessions, there will be ample opportunity for networking and matchmaking. This is the moment to explore how Dutch and Italian companies can jointly respond to the multi-billion-euro investments in Re-Arm Europe. There are also opportunities for discussions with the Italian delegation on 30 September and 1 October.
