Trade mission energy transition South Korea and Japan, with Minister Schreinemacher

Is your company internationally active in the energy transition? Think of offshore wind, hydrogen, battery technology, electric mobility or greenhouse horticulture. And do you want to do business in South Korea and Japan?

From 13 to 17 March 2023, join this trade mission with Liesje Schreinemacher, Minister for Foreign Trade and Development Cooperation. Ingrid Thijssen, chairman of VNO-NCW, acts as business mission leader. The mission is during the Interbattery and EV trend trade fairs in Seoul, and World Smart Energy Week in Tokyo.

For whom?

This mission is especially interesting for companies and knowledge institutions that are active in the field of energy transition and that are interested in doing business with South Korea and Japan. The focus is on the following sectors:

South Korea:

  • Hydrogen
  • Battery technology
  • Greenhouse horticulture

Japan:

  • Hydrogen
  • Wind at sea

In addition, we particularly invite female entrepreneurs and start-ups to participate.

Opportunities for the Netherlands

South Korea is the 4th largest economy in Asia and the 10th largest in the world. The Japanese economy is the third largest in the world. Both countries offer many opportunities for Dutch entrepreneurs, particularly in the field of innovation and technology. South Korea and Japan are important trade partners of the Netherlands in Asia, the third and fourth export markets in the region respectively.

Knowledge and expertise

South Korea and Japan are technologically advanced economies with robust demand for high-quality goods and services. Exchange in the technology sector is an important pillar in the collaboration, in addition to the traditional sectors such as agri-food, chemistry and horticulture. In the field of sustainability, these markets have great ambitions that can only be achieved through the exchange of knowledge and expertise.

Energy transition

There are plenty of opportunities for Dutch companies and knowledge institutions in the field of energy transition. In South Korea, this includes hydrogen, battery technology including electric vehicles and greenhouse horticulture. There are identical opportunities in Japan, but the mission will mainly focus on the opportunities in the field of hydrogen and wind on theme.

In short, 2 dynamic markets with serious plans for the energy transition and interested in international cooperation. Will you join us to further explore these opportunities?

During this mission you will discover where the business opportunities in South Korea and Japan lie. The presence of Liesje Schreinemacher, Minister for Foreign Trade and Development Cooperation, Ingrid Thijssen, the chairman of VNO-NCW, and senior civil servants offers you a unique opportunity to make contacts at a high level.
