The SACD4HTS project develops a distributed, hardware-anchored security framework for autonomous AI systems across heterogeneous platforms. Combining ASML’s systems engineering, Fortaegis’ secure silicon, and TU/e’s embedded systems expertise, it enables secure, high-performance machine-to-machine collaboration in industrial environments.

A distributed Trusted Execution Environment for Autonomous Cyber Defense

In this collaboration between ASML, Fortaegis, and TU/e, the partners will design and validate a distributed Trusted Execution Environment (dTEE) that ensures secure and interoperable operation of AI agents across heterogeneous computing platforms. Current point-solution security models are inadequate for complex, autonomous, and connected systems. The new framework introduces hardware-anchored identities and secure communication to create a universal trust layer. The project culminates in a pilot within ASML’s TwinScan systems.
