During a trade mission to Latvia, organised around Drone Summit 2025 in Riga, over forty Dutch companies showcased their innovative technologies. With the attendance of Minister of Defence Ruben Brekelmans, the mission strongly focused on fostering cooperation with European defence and technology partners. It marked one of the largest Dutch trade missions in the field of drone technology to date.
The summit offered ample opportunities for knowledge exchange, targeted matchmaking and exploration of the Latvian drone ecosystem. The mission resulted in concrete leads and follow-up meetings, as well as initial steps towards collaboration with Latvian technology clusters, manufacturers and knowledge institutions. On behalf of ROM-Nederland, a policy recommendation was also presented to Minister Brekelmans, calling for structural cooperation between the Netherlands and the Baltic states in drone innovation, production and training.
