The Institute for human Organ and Disease Model Technologies (hDMT) celebrates its 10th anniversary.
Since its foundation in 2015, hDMT has grown into an internationally leading network that connects science with knowledge sharing and innovation. Through collaboration between researchers, companies and social organizations, hDMT has stimulated the development of dynamic human models for disease and health, based on, among other things, Organ-on-Chip and stem cell technology.
The partners form the core of the hDMT network. Among the partners are leading academic institutions and research centers, including Amsterdam University Medical Center, Delft University of Technology, Eindhoven University of Technology, Erasmus MC, Leiden University, Leiden University Medical Center, Leiden University of Applied Sciences, Maastricht University Medical Center+, Radboud University Medical Center, TNO, University Medical Center Groningen, University of Twente, University Medical Center Utrecht, Utrecht University, VU Amsterdam, and Wageningen University & Research.
Festive celebration of the anniversary
The anniversary was recently celebrated festively. The anniversary marks a decade of progress and collaboration in the field of biomedical engineering, with the aim of developing reliable, innovative, dynamic human models, which are of great value for the development of new treatments and medicines, personalized diagnostics, and which also reduce animal testing.
On the occasion of the anniversary, a book has been published that gives an impression of the trajectory of hDMT over the past ten years. The book, entitled "We Pioneer, Grow, Improve", tells the story of hDMT's evolution and the impact of its innovations.
