Key enabling technologies Energy transition Circular economy Sustainability

As of May 6, the new subsidy round of the Knowledge and Innovation Agenda Circular Economy has been opened for the development of circular products, services and processes. As of this year, the scheme has been changed to EKOO: Circular Economy (other than circular plastics or biobased circular). A total of 2.5 million euros in support is available for developments in the manufacturing industry, construction and infrastructure and for consumer goods. An information meeting will be held on May 8.

We currently consume far more raw materials than the earth can produce. In the long term, this is not sustainable and that is why we must make the transition to a circular economy in which raw materials are optimally used and reused. The Knowledge and Innovation Agenda for the Circular Economy (KIA CE) stimulates the development of knowledge and innovation that is necessary to achieve a circular economy. One of the means for this is the EKOO Circular Economy scheme.

2.5 million for circular manufacturing industry, construction & infrastructure and consumer goods
The scheme is open between 6 May and 21 August. A total of 2.5 million euros in budget is available for the development of circular products, processes and/or services. This concerns technological research and development of new or significantly improved products, services and processes and research into consumer behaviour, business or revenue models. The scheme is open for three product groups:

  • Manufacturing industry: capital goods, wind turbines and solar panel systems, electrolysers and batteries for light electric transport and building-related climate installations
  • Construction and infrastructure: Homes and offices, concrete bridges and viaducts and road surfaces
  • Consumer goods: electrical and electronic equipment, furniture, textiles, packaging and disposable products

Information and matchmaking meeting
An information meeting will be held in Amersfoort on 8 May, explaining the rules and conditions of the subsidy scheme and allowing participants to have their project ideas tested. The meeting is also a great opportunity to develop partnerships with other companies and research institutions.
