Netherlands Enterprise Agency (RVO) has launched the Horizon Europe Roadmap 2026–2027, a practical and interactive guide that helps Dutch organisations navigate Europe’s largest research and innovation programme.
Horizon Europe offers funding for a wide range of research and innovation activities, from fundamental research to close-to-market solutions, with the aim of strengthening Europe’s competitiveness while addressing major societal challenges. Running from 2021 to 2027, the programme is structured around three pillars, each offering distinct opportunities for companies, knowledge institutions and public organisations.
RVO developed the roadmap to make these opportunities more accessible. The structure of Horizon Europe can be complex, with numerous calls, themes and funding instruments. The roadmap brings clarity by providing a clear overview of the programme’s architecture, the different instruments and relevant calls, based on the official European Commission work programmes.
Using the roadmap, organisations can quickly identify which parts of Horizon Europe best match their ambitions, understand how the funding process works and see what is required to participate successfully. It is an essential first step for anyone looking to engage in European research and innovation.
