The Netherlands Enterprise Agency (RVO) will open the call for proposals for the Temporary Subsidy Scheme for Aviation in Transition – Supporting Research Module on 1 April 2026. With this subsidy, the Ministry of Infrastructure and Water Management will encourage knowledge institutions to conduct research into technologies that contribute to the development of clean and efficient aircraft.
The programme focuses on research projects involving, among other things, smart and lightweight aircraft structures and technologies that enable hydrogen-powered flight. The goal is to develop new knowledge that will help Dutch companies strengthen their position in the international aviation chain while simultaneously contributing to the sustainability of the sector.
€5.25 million is available for this round. A maximum of €1.25 million in funding can be awarded per project, depending on the type of research (up to 100% for fundamental research).
Applications can be submitted from April 1st to June 1st, 2026. The tender will be ranked based on criteria such as scientific quality, contribution to climate goals, and economic impact.
