For whom?

This mission, taking place from November 24th to 28th, is for Dutch companies, startups, clusters, and knowledge institutions active in aviation or offering products or services for the aviation industry. This includes organizations in the fields of:

  • Sustainable aviation and electrification.
  • Digitalization of airports, such as digital twinning (the visual representation of reality) and innovations that make airports more efficient, sustainable, or safe.
  • Advanced Air Mobility (AAM).
  • Design and production for the aviation industry, such as for key aircraft components and propulsion systems.
  • Hybrid propulsion and materials innovation.

Opportunities for Dutch companies

Canada has a strong and rapidly growing aviation sector with airports in Quebec, Ontario, and British Columbia. The country is investing heavily in sustainability and digital innovation, such as new programs for advanced air mobility (AAM), hybrid propulsion, and smart airports.

Major organizations active in the aviation sector are located near Toronto, Montreal, and Vancouver, such as:

  • Bombardier
  • CAE
  • Pratt & Whitney
  • Airbus
  • Boeing
  • And many leading SMEs, universities, and research centers.

There are strong regional clusters for collaboration between government, businesses, and knowledge institutions.

Canada is ideal for access to the larger North American market. The country also has subsidy programs and funds for international innovation collaboration: Dutch organizations can benefit from these.

The Netherlands can collaborate with Canada within international consortia, as Canada will be part of the Horizon Europe network starting in 2024.

Why participate?

Toronto, Montreal, and Vancouver will be visited for extensive networking opportunities, including with potential business partners, knowledge institutions, and government agencies.

This mission offers a unique opportunity to gain valuable insights into the Canadian aviation industry and the Canadian ecosystem in just one week. It also provides insights into developments, key organizations, and opportunities in Canada, for example:

  • Sustainable aviation
  • International collaboration
  • Digitalization
  • Innovative technologies for airports

Programme

Participants will be offered a comprehensive mission program. This draft program includes:

- Presentations and knowledge sessions on the Canadian aviation sector and innovations within it.
- Informal networking opportunities and events with Canadian organizations.
- Company visits and tours of leading locations such as the DAIR hub in Toronto and the Aéro Campus in Montreal.
- Travel to mission locations in Toronto, Montreal, and Vancouver.
