NWO is organizing an online meeting on 20 January 2026, where participants will receive more information about the KIC call Adaptive Transition and the application process. There will also be ample opportunity to ask questions.

About the call

Mission-driven innovation for transitions takes place in a dynamic, complex context. In order not to slow down transitions and preferably to accelerate them, the adaptability of both systems and organisations as well as the individuals involved is required. Adaptability contributes to the necessary resilience against disruptions, responding to opportunities, stimulating innovation and achieving long-term goals. It is not yet sufficiently known how adaptability can be increased and used for sustainable transitions. This call funds research into adaptability in three specific transition contexts: transition of the food system, transition to sustainable mobility, and transition of the energy system in the built environment.
