Over the next three years, schools, businesses, and after-school organizations across the Netherlands will be working on innovative and inspiring technology education for children and young people. Fifty-six submitted plans for Techkwadraat have been approved.
The approval is a huge step in the right direction regarding Techkwadraat's ambition: to give every child and young person the opportunity to experience technology in a positive way, both inside and outside of school.
Techkwadraat
Techkwadraat is a National Growth Fund project aimed at providing comprehensive, effective, and high-quality technology education for every student in primary and secondary education. Schools, businesses, and extracurricular learning environments such as museums, libraries, tech labs, and science centers will connect regionally. By transcending educational barriers and scaling up existing initiatives, structures, projects, and activities, a technology-inclusive culture is created and rich learning environments are built where all children and young people encounter technology.
In addition to regional implementation, there is also national support. This focuses on connecting partners, researching, pooling, and sharing knowledge, tools, and working examples, and establishing a sustainable foundation for technology education. The Techkwadraat program office collaborates closely with relevant expert partners on this project.
