The Netherlands Enterprise Agency (RVO) and the Innovation Attaché Network in London are organizing an innovation mission to the United Kingdom under the title Future of Compute. Taking place from 10 to 13 November 2025, the mission targets Dutch companies and knowledge institutions active in artificial intelligence (AI), integrated photonics, and/or neuromorphic computing. The goal is to explore opportunities for collaboration with UK partners in the field of energy-efficient computing. The mission is supported by Topsector ICT, Holland High Tech, AIC4NL, and PhotonDelta. The deadline to register is Friday, 12 September 2025.
For whom?
This innovation mission connects the Dutch future of compute ecosystem – specifically in AI, integrated photonics, and neuromorphic computing – with its counterpart in the United Kingdom. Participation is open to Dutch companies (including SMEs and large industry players) and knowledge institutions involved in any part of the value chain in one or more of these three domains. This includes organizations working on materials, devices, circuit design, hardware, architecture, algorithms, or applications. Potential end users are also welcome to join.
Why participate?
Improving the energy efficiency of AI is essential. This requires low-power algorithms and hardware. Technologies such as neuromorphic and photonic computing can play a significant role in achieving that goal. Bringing together stakeholders from these three domains opens up opportunities for integrated solutions. This mission serves as a starting point, offering concrete opportunities such as:
- Exploring potential use cases
- Collaborating on demonstrators
- Increasing industry engagement
- Identifying partnerships for Horizon Europe or Eureka projects
- Signing a memorandum of understanding (MoU)
