The Netherlands is rising to the challenge! As Holland High Tech, we are involved in a broad range of new developments. In the areas of focus listed below, we continuously act to develop innovation, high tech and our ecosystems, both in the foreground and behind the scenes.
Growth Fund for the Einstein Telescope
Einstein Telescope is the name chosen for an underground observatory for measuring gravitational waves. At this facility, powerful laser beams will soon bounce back and forth between cryogenic, vibration-free mirrors at the ends of kilometres-long tunnels in a perfect vacuum. The instrument will be more sensitive than existing detectors. As a result, it will be capable of detecting many more sources and scan an area of the universe that is one thousand times larger. The region where the borders of the Netherlands, Belgium and Germany meet is being considered as a possible location.
Growth Fund for GroenvermogenNL
Together with the rest of the world, the Netherlands faces an immense climate challenge. Our fossil fuels-based society and industries must be converted to other energy sources. The Netherlands has chosen green hydrogen as the driving force behind that transition. The ChemistryNL, Energy and Holland High Tech top sectors are working closely with industrial and knowledge partners to exploit the opportunities offered by hydrogen for the energy transition and in green chemistry.
Growth Fund for NXTGEN HIGHTECH
A new generation of high tech equipment is needed to make the Netherlands future-proof and ensure our ability to cope with the social problems we are now facing. The NXTGEN HIGHTECH programme offers solutions for the Netherlands of the future in six key application areas. NXTGEN HIGHTECH has received a grant of 450 million euros from the National Growth Fund.
Growth Fund for PhotonDeltaNL
The development of photonic technology can address societal challenges, open the door to a new European industry and pave the way for new applications including quantum computing. The goal of this programme is a new generation of semiconductor technology. PhotonDelta, an international ecosystem of organisations in photonic chip technology, has mobilised €1.1 billion of public and private investment.
Growth Fund for Quantum Delta
We are at the beginning of a technology revolution that will contribute greatly to solving societal challenges in energy, food and healthcare. Quantum technology is a key technology that enables radically new products and services. This Growth Fund grant will position the Netherlands as a leading international centre and hub for quantum technology: Quantum Delta NL.
The goal of the Mobility Fund is to facilitate accessibility throughout the entire Netherlands through safe, innovative and sustainable mobility of people and goods. The fund is the successor to the Infrastructure Fund and is managed by the Ministry of Infrastructure and Water Management.
Broadly Supported MedTechNL Programme
Medical technology offers tremendous opportunities for human health, healthcare and the economy. MedTechNL aims to realise this vision of the future with medical technology and demand-driven care concepts that will revolutionise the quality, staffing and affordability of health and care.
