Minister Dirk Beljaarts (Economic Affairs):

The CES is the global stage for innovative companies. Here they present their solutions, both to the general public and to investors. The Innovation Awards show that there are Dutch entrepreneurs with wonderful innovative solutions. The CES is an important step to be able to scale up. That is why I will be attending the upcoming CES to draw attention to these companies and their innovations.

Innovation is an important driver of economic growth. That is why the government is committed to offering start-ups, scale-ups and innovative SMEs the targeted support they need to grow. These companies receive support through various schemes. For example, the Seed Business Angel scheme makes investing in creative and technical start-ups more attractive. The Innovation Credit focuses on innovative projects with a high technical risk and great economic potential, while the WBSO offers a fiscal boost for research and development. With these and other initiatives, the government helps to actually unlock the potential of our innovative companies.
