Nowhere in the Netherlands there are so many inventors as in Eindhoven and sourrounding area. Great minds from large companies Philips, Signify, ASML and NXP are constantly inventing new things. Those four even account for 40 percent of all Patent applications in the Netherlands, according to figures from the European Patent Office (EPO) earlier this year.

Around these giants it is teeming with starting, and meanwhile already somewhat larger, companies and businesses. The innovative of the big boys seeps down. An area of companies and knowledge institutes has arisen that was given the name Brainport Eindhoven.
