The Eindhoven-based company Solarge makes lightweight solar panels that can be recycled. By using strong and lightweight plastics, these solar panels can also be placed on roofs that are not strong enough for conventional glass panels. In addition, less CO2 is released during production and they are recyclable.
Solarge will set up a factory in Weert, Limburg, for large-scale production. By 2023, the company expects to be able to manufacture 100,000 solar panels.
For the development, Solarge uses the MOOI subsidy from the Netherlands Enterprise Agency (RVO).
