Wonder and enthusiasm during NWO's innovation market TEKNOWLOGY, where researchers and academic startups showcased prototypes and demo models of the latest innovations. Throughout the day, science and the technological promises for the future were displayed, from mathematics to metamaterials and from medical technology to innovations in agriculture. One of the presenters was among the winners of HiTMaT 2019.
Strengthening research in the Netherlands
How can we further strengthen the foundation of technical-scientific research in the Netherlands? This question kicked off the TEKNOWLOGY in deFabrique. The answers? 'More money', but also: better cooperation and more combined management.
Interdisciplinairy
Typical for TEKNOWLOGY is how both research and innovations are interdisciplinary and touch many scientific, according to Auke Hoekstra, Program Director NEON research at Eindhoven University of Technology. He commented on the challenges we face: 'They usually have a social component, a technical component and a legal component and you have to address them all to come to a proficient answer to social challenges.'”
