NWO is expected to publish a new call 'Cybersecurity for digital resilience' in June 2023 in the context of the Knowledge and Innovation Covenant (KIC). With this call, NWO wants to give a substantial boost to cyber security knowledge and innovation, aimed at solutions for digital security problems.
Purpose of the call
The aim of this call is to acquire essential and innovative knowledge from fundamental and applied cybersecurity research, which contributes to safely shaping the digital transformation of the Netherlands. The development of new (technological) instruments, working methods, action perspectives and intervention options is central to this.
The call 'Cybersecurity for digital resilience' follows priorities set in the Knowledge and Innovation Agenda (KIA) Key Technologies and the KIA Security and is being developed within the main line Mission of the Knowledge and Innovation Covenant (KIC).
Interdisciplinary collaboration
In the development of the call 'Cybersecurity for digital resilience', NWO takes into account the consideration that many cybersecurity problems have social, societal and technological challenges. NWO therefore distinguishes three intersecting themes that keep recurring in cybersecurity issues: the human factor; law, regulation and politics; and technological developments. In projects where possible, consortia should address all these themes when elaborating their research question.
Matchmaking
Researchers from arts, sciences and gamma disciplines, as well as researchers at universities of applied sciences and other knowledge institutions, are invited to collaborate with industry and civil society organizations to submit a joint project proposal for this call. To facilitate this, NWO will organize a matchmaking meeting after publication of the call. More information about this and the opportunity to register for this matchmaking meeting will follow after the call for proposals has been determined.
