At the embassy in Berlin, 40 experts from the German and Dutch aviation industry and research sector gathered to discuss the further development of existing technologies as well as new propulsion systems, including hydrogen and electric flight. A collaboration between SAM XL, the German Aerospace Center (DLR), GKN Aerospace, and Airbus—facilitated by the City of Bremen and the Province of Zuid-Holland—was presented, focusing on the development of lightweight structures for movable wing components.
The Netherlands and Germany are pioneers in developing sustainable aviation technology and have already established far-reaching bilateral collaborations. One example is the German-Dutch Wind Tunnels, a unique facility for advanced wind tunnel testing. Innovation in sustainable aviation can only be achieved by pushing the boundaries together, and the German-Dutch Innovation and Technology Pact can play a key role in this.
