At the end of September, the kick-off of the NXTGEN Hightech projects Autonomous Factory and Smart Supply Network took place on the Brainport Industries Campus. Two widely supported projects that focus on innovation and collaboration, with the aim of sustainably strengthening the Dutch manufacturing industry. The projects have now been underway for a number of months.
NXTGEN Hightech is a joining of forces of more than 330 parties that work together on new high-tech machines and production technologies. The program is supported by the Dutch government's National Growth Fund, with an investment of 1 billion euros over the next seven years. This amount goes towards the development of High Tech Equipment in various domains, including semicon, medical, agri-food and energy systems. Part of the investment also goes towards developing ways to produce this equipment smartly and efficiently.
