The KIEM regulations of Regieorgaan SIA are being expanded with KIEM D (Defence). This is in line with the joint ambition of Regieorgaan SIA and the Ministry of Defence to have universities of applied sciences make a sustainable contribution to the practice-oriented research questions of Defence. KIEM D offers opportunities for 1-year, exploratory practice-oriented research with defence components. The thematic demarcation is broad. Research topics can be in the field of sustainability, technology, socio-cultural, healthcare and strengthening the resilience of society. A subsidy ceiling of € 1,000,000 applies to KIEM D. As with all KIEMs, a maximum of € 40,000 can be financed per application. It is expected that 25 applications will be submitted according to the old, well-known principle of first come, first served.
