HU University of Applied Sciences Utrecht (HU) and the EDIH Digital Hub Noordwest are launching five Learning Communities to support SMEs in innovating with Artificial Intelligence (AI). These communities offer entrepreneurs a collective innovation department where they can gain knowledge, develop pilots and apply AI directly in their company together with experts, researchers, lecturers and fellow SMEs. The goal: to build a future full of innovation and growth together.

Innovating with AI: a joint approach

Many SMEs see the potential of AI for their business, but find it difficult to free up the necessary time, space and expertise. The Learning Communities are designed to address this challenge. Small groups of entrepreneurs work on a specific AI issue that is directly relevant to their business in a tailor-made trajectory. They are supported by the latest knowledge, technologies and the network of Hogeschool Utrecht, ROM Utrecht Region and other partners in this project.

Themes of the Learning Communities

The first five Learning Communities focus on the following AI themes:

  1. AI & Ground Sensing
  2. AI & Digital Twin
  3. AI & Adaptive Safety Logistics
  4. AI & Smart Mobility
  5. AI & Corporate Acquisitions

Jules van Berlo, director at Claassen, Moolenbeek & Partners follows the Learning
Community on AI & Corporate Acquisitions:

The value of a Learning Community lies in connecting and sharing knowledge. It helps us to take the next step and further strengthen our services to customers. This initiative fits in perfectly with the concept of ‘lifelong learning’ and continuous improvement.
