Amid the complexities of intensive care, continuous monitoring of brain function using EEG sensors is vital, particularly for patients after cardiac arrest or with traumatic brain injury. EEG monitoring in the ICU is challenging due to limited local expertise and time-consuming data review.
To address these issues, our project focuses on designing and developing EEG sensing technology complemented with a cloud-based monitoring system for real-time data analysis and exchange between hospitals. Initially, we will connect Ziekenhuisgroep Twente (ZGT) and Medisch Spectrum Twente (MST).
This system enables efficient EEG data review by MST neurophysiologists, supported by AI-models for interpretation. Our efforts will distribute new technological and expert knowledge across (inter-)national hospitals, leading to better decisions and care for ICU patients while optimizing expertise use.
