The shift to remote diagnostics requires innovations starting with the core sensing hardware. In this project, we will research new sensing frontend electronics that reduce power consumption while increasing the accuracy of home-use medical-grade ExG monitors, helping to lower healthcare costs.

Impact

In this project, we aim to develop novel low-power medical grade electronic frontends to sense EEG, ECG and EMG (collectively ExG) signals for next generation medical home monitoring of patients. We expect that the results from this research project can be leveraged to significantly reduce both the pressure on and the cost of medicare in our ageing society. This proposal addresses both the “Medical Technology & wellbeing” and the “Microelectronics” roadmaps in the TKI HTSM strategic programme.
