Consumers and companies need new rules to make the data economy work better. For example, when it comes to better access to your digital data and whether or not you can share it. But also about innovation and increased competition between small and large companies. The Council of Ministers has agreed to send a bill for this purpose from Minister Beljaarts (Economic Affairs) to the Council of State for advice. The House of Representatives and Senate will then discuss the bill.
Webinar Ministry of Economic Affairs on the impact of the Data Act
The Ministry of Economic Affairs organises a webinar on this topic on Thursday September 12. Policy and legal experts from the ministry will discuss the new rules for access to data from smart devices and switching between cloud services, together with supervisors such as the Netherlands Authority for Consumers & Markets (ACM). Providers or (business) users of Internet-of-Things (IoT) products or cloud services who are interested in the impact of the European Data Act can register for the webinar.
