NWO is expected to open the call 'Demand-driven research by consortia 2024-S' for applications at the beginning of July. With this call for proposals, public-private consortia can apply for funding for impact-driven collaborative research. Topics must be consistent with the innovation policy of the Dutch government.
Purpose of the call
The aim of this call is to achieve impact for the economy, people and society through public-private partnerships in consortia. Topics for research proposals must arise from contemporary societal challenges as identified by the government's mission-driven innovation policy and the Knowledge and Innovation Agendas (KIAs) drawn up from it. It is therefore important that submitted research proposals correspond to one or more of the 6 KIAs.
Consortia requirements and budget
Consortia must consist of at least two knowledge institutions and one co-financier. At least one co-financier must be a company.
A minimum of €250,000 and a maximum of €750,000 can be requested in NWO funding for this call. NWO thus finances 50% of the total project size. The remaining 50% must come from the consortium, of which 30% in cash from the business community.
