If the European industry wants to keep up with the United States and China, productivity must increase. This requires more data sharing, better collaboration in digital supply chains, the application of artificial intelligence and cloud technology.
As a result, cyber security is a top priority for the Dutch industry and this can be seen at the Holland High Tech Pavilion at the Hannover Messe 2023 from April 17-21 in Hannover. At the Hannover Messe 2023, various companies and knowledge institutions will show in the Holland High Tech Pavilion what solutions they have to offer for data exchange, cloud technology, AI and cyber security.

Sharing more data requires more cyber security

Sharing digital data between companies is necessary, but at the same time entails considerable risks. Large and increasingly small companies are regularly victims of cyber attacks. According to the German industry association Bitkom, the total damage to the German economy in 2021 was about 223 billion euros. Hackers often targeted sensitive company data. In other cases, a ransomware attack blackmails companies into paying a ransom.

The developments of recent years have shown that it is important to have a European perspective on global challenges.

Marc Hendrikse, chairman of Topsector High Tech Systemen en Materialen (HTSM) and Holland High Tech.

We should not rely solely on American or Chinese technology, but have European technology and work together on solutions.”
