Holland High Tech at full strength for new challenges
As of 1 January 2025, Peter Stolk will be the new chairman of Holland High Tech, the top sector High Tech Systems and Materials (HTSM). He will succeed Marc Hendrikse, who will retire as figurehead at the end of 2024 after thirteen years of involvement in this top sector. With the appointment of Stolk, who has earned his spurs in the high-tech sector, Holland High Tech is well prepared for the rapid developments and challenges in the international high-tech and materials sector.

Peter Stolk, chairman of Holland High Tech, which unites the top sector High Tech Systems and Materials and the board of TKI HTSM:
I am very honoured to take over Marc Hendrikse's role within Holland High Tech. Much has been achieved in the past 13 years and I am very enthusiastic about continuing to build on innovation together with the organisation and all parties involved in our ecosystem from 1 January 2025. Our high-tech, systems and materials sector plays a crucial role in the necessary transitions for the future of the Netherlands. By using technological applications and key technologies in our public-private partnerships, we can truly contribute to a safe, liveable, energy-resistant, circular Netherlands.
Leo Warmerdam, director of Holland High Tech, TKI HTSM:
With his PhD in Experimental Physics at AMOLF and his broad experience at Philips, NXP, ASML and Ampleon, Peter is ideally placed to tackle the innovation challenges we face together with our (top) team, board and partners. He has gained broad management experience in international research, industrial and business environments in the semiconductor, lighting and automotive industry over the past decades. His experience as a connector in cross-functional projects and complex ecosystems ensures a good connection with both the challenges and the people who work on them.
Marc Hendrikse, outgoing figurehead of the top sector High Tech Systems and Materials:
Innovation in high-tech is not a sprint, it is a marathon, we must continue to proclaim that. And that in the Netherlands we can come up with inventive solutions for global challenges by working together and thus contribute to our prosperity, we have known since the development of the sawmill. What we started centuries ago, we will continue with in 2024 and far into the future. I am pleased that Peter, with all his experience, is taking over the baton and, together with the team of Holland High Tech, is working on innovation for our future: and the motto: Global Challenges, Smart Solutions.
Marc Hendrikse celebrated his farewell on 9 December during the Hightech Hollands Glorie symposium in Eindhoven in the company of leading figures from the business community, knowledge institutions and government.
